"Perils of Unbelief." The Hebrews are reminded to encourage one another so one avoids an unbelieving heart. Anticipate the superiority of your rest in Christ.
The writer of Hebrews wants these persecuted Jews to hold firm to their confidence and hope in Christ. They need to have intelligent confidence in their faith.
As believers, we need to have our work radiate the goodness of God in us.
This passage emphasizes again the superiority of Jesus to angels. He has a relationship with us that He will never have with the angels. Remember verses 14 & 15 for Christmas!
The angels could never have done what Jesus did for man. Jesus won our salvation by dying. Jesus is the answer.
Drifting can be so gradual and seemingly innocent. But the writer of Hebrews strongly warns us how vital it is to embrace the gospel and authority of Jesus Christ, always.
No one is to be worshiped but God! There was great confusion and ignorance in the First and Second Century about angels. Find out what the Scriptures say about those angelic creatures.
Trouble is real, constant and terrible. Trouble comes from without and within but...it is not forever. Trouble has a termination date!
