I lay in my cozy cocoon
Waiting to emerge as a butterfly
Yet I tremble with fear
I feel mom's agony and pain
She and dad had another fight
It's always about me
And I haven't done anything yet
He wants to end my life
What life I scream I've yet to live
Sure you can hear my heartbeat
But I know there is more to life than that
I have roads to travel and hills to climb
There is school to attend and friends to make
Who knows I could even become president
